Why are these the keys to a healthy brain?
- Early Childhood: Your brain develops in utero (the womb) and continues developing after you are born. Rapidly within your first 3 years of life and fully into adulthood. However, your brain has the potential to keep changing and developing past adulthood.
- Self-Regulation: Your brain and body relies on your ability to self-regulate: recognizing, managing and restoring from the stressors presented in everyday life. From the moment you are born (and even in utero), you begin developing the capacity to self-regulate through the support, safety, care and nurturance of another.
- Health & Lifestyle: Your relationships and support systems, routines and daily practices, food choices and physical activities are all essential to your ability to manage stress and contributes to the maintenance of a healthy brain and overall health.
